Hollywood District Woodinville Wine District

Hollywood District – The Gem of Woodinville

As the most popular tourist destination in Woodinville Wine Country, the Hollywood District is the gem of this region of Washington. Woodinville is located on the Eastside area of Seattle. This quaint city is known for offering over 100 wine tasting rooms in an idyllic rural setting that encourages you to sit back and relax.

History of the Hollywood District Woodinville:

Established in the early 1900’s by area lumber baron Frederick Stimson, the Old Hollywood Farm has been a staple of the Woodinville region. The farm once occupied the land that is now owned and operated by the iconic Chateau Ste. Michelle. As the oldest and largest winery in the state, this operation is a local favorite and famous tourist destination. Since that time, the area has flourished as the central gathering spot in Woodinville and its environs.

Cheers!:

The biggest draw of the Hollywood District is its many wineries. From big-name corporate wineries to smaller and more local operations, you will find various tasting rooms scattered within walking distance of each other. This proximity makes it easy to spend the day enjoying nearly every type of wine varietal without having to drive anywhere.

Start your tour of the Woodinville Wine District with a visit to Chateau Ste. Michelle and its expansive grounds. During the summer, this venue is also home to a popular outdoor concert series, inviting you to open up a bottle of wine and enjoy great music in a stunning natural setting. Across the street, you will find the beautiful Columbia Winery. Other notable wineries to check out include Goose Ridge Winery, Airfield Estates, Patterson Cellars, Matthews Winery, Brian Carter Cellars, and more.

Where to Eat and Stay:

You will work up an appetite sampling all of these delicious wines. Fortunately, the Hollywood District offers a bevy of dining options to satiate any appetite. Begin your day with breakfast at the Commons Kitchen and Bar. Good lunch places include Vivi Pizzeria or Village Wines. For a fancier dinner, consider the Purple Cafe and Wine Bar or Heritage Restaurant.

The upscale Willows Lodge is a great place to stay if you want to explore this district. After a long day of wine tasting and noshing on some of the region’s freshest food, you will appreciate the convenience of simply walking back to your room at this luxurious lodge.
