Woodinville High School: A Standard of Excellence

Woodinville High School is a public secondary institution of learning located in Woodinville, Washington, an Eastern suburb of Seattle. The school’s campus is located approximately 30 minutes from downtown Seattle. The high school is part of the highly-acclaimed Northshore School District. Both Leota Middle School and Timbercrest Middle School feed into the high school.

The school was originally constructed in 1983 on a 50-acre parcel of land. Since that time, the building has received numerous upgrades and additions. Kurt Criscione is the long-time principal of the school. Assistant principals include Brenda Conrad, Craig Richardson, and Matt Wallace. The falcon is the school’s mascot and the official colors are navy and kelly green. Woodinville High School is home to approximately 1,750 students spread across four grades.

Strong Academic Profile

Woodinville High School  offers a solid selection of academic opportunities, appealing to a wide variety of interests. Foreign language offerings include Spanish, French, German, American Sign Language (ASL), and Japanese. The school also features a myriad of AP class offerings across an array of subjects. Students can choose to take AP classes in subjects such as calculus, economics, psychology, chemistry, biology, statistics, world history, US history, government, physics, computer science, and more. The high school boasts a high participation rate in AP classes, part of its overall plan to prepare students for the rigors of academics at the college level.

Tradition of Excellence in Athletics

The high school competes in the KingCo 4A conference, the highest classification in the state of Washington. The Woodinville Falcons sports teams are under the direction of Athletics Director Catherine Boyce. Woodinville is a football powerhouse, reaching the state semi-finals the past two seasons with a berth in the championship game in 2017. The Falcons football team is led by Coach Wayne Maxwell and plays their home games at Pop Keeney Stadium in Bothell. The Woodinville girls basketball program is also an elite powerhouse, regularly competing for a state title with Coach Scott Bullock at the helm. Woodinville High School also boasts recent championships in women’s softball and women’s gymnastics.

Extra-Curricular Choices Galore

The school features a bevy of extra-curricular activities, encouraging students to get involved with their school and their community. Students enjoy time set aside during the school day dedicated to club participation. The music and drama departments are a fixture on the school’s campus with active participation throughout the student body. The drama department puts on at least two productions each school year. The music program is known for its popular spring “Evening at the Pops” performance.

Some of the school’s famous alumni include MLB player Matt Tuiasosopo, musician Jake Snider, MMA fighter Ryan Couture, and NFL player Andre Dillard.
